Wedding Lookbook from my Sister’s Wedding

And it’s finally here! My sister’s wedding lookbook. There were 3 main events-each with it’s own theme and dress code to suit the venue and vibe. So let me take you through the looks and the thoughts behind them.

Cocktail Dinner: So the first event was a cocktail dinner at a winery and the dresscode was glam. For me that meant a western style outfit, like a gown, dress, or a jumpsuit. I ended up going for a champagne gold fusion gown from Mahima Mahajan, while my husband looked so so dapper in a dark grey suit and Aisha was a pop of color in a red dress from Ruchika Lath. In terms of hair, I opted for a low ponytail-Hollywood inspired, and then for makeup it was that no makeup, makeup look which was perfect for the moody lighting of the event.

Sangeet Night: 2nd event took a Desi spin-with traditional, colorful and the dresscode was, well, colorful. So I opted for a my blue and maroon lehenga sari by Tarun Tahiliani with lots of colors on the skirt. Sticking to the colorful dresscode, Aisha’s outfit was was a bright yellow sharara with flowers from Fayon Kids, and don’t miss the accessories! Bangles, tikka, juttis, all of it. And finally, my husband-who doesn’t enjoy wearing a ton of color, opted for a white kurta pajama with a bright blue jacket-his version of colorful. I decided to keep my hair down and straight with a braided headband, which is always a safe option for a modern, Indian outfit and since the outfit had so much color, we went for shimmery, glowy makeup that took me through the night.

Wedding: And finally the wedding day-where the dress code was formal. The venue was this gorgeous space with lots of greenery. Therefore, I opted for a pink, ivory, and orange lehenga from Abhinav Mishra which was such a dream to wear-I can’t wait to wear it again.  My husband got a Jodhpuri made in a complementing color,  Aisha’s outfit was a pink and orange shaded lehenga from Little Miss Muffet. Funny enough, her outfit took the longest for this function. I was initially hoping for something custom, but I wasn’t getting anywhere. So eventually I found her piece. For hair and makeup, I went for a mid bun with lots of curls and flowers and shimmery pink makeup-which took me through the night!

So those were the three main looks for all of us for each event. Which one was your favorite?
