HAPPY NEW YEAR! Welcome to the first week of 2022. It’s a new year, which hopefully is an opportunity for new beginnings and fresh starts. Personally, I’m not very big on “New Year” resolutions, but this year things are a little different. Towards the end of 2021, I found myself wanting to make small changes to better myself. Thus, it inspired a couple of new years resolutions. So here goes!
Write Everything Down-Before Aisha was born, I took the time to create a bullet journal and write a to-do list to outline my day. For more on that, check out this blog post. However, after she was born, that went completely out the window. That being said, now I have serious mom brain, where I forget to take care of small tasks because I’m distracted or Aisha requires my attention in that very moment. This became extremely frustrating for my loved ones and myself. So I started making notes in my phone. Now, I have planner from Odd Giraffe, which I’m using to create my to-do list. Hopefully, this helps with my forgetting issue!
Plan a Tentative Schedule-After I became a mom, planning my own schedule went completely out the window, and everything started revolving around Aisha. However, by the time she became 3 months old, there was some sort of predictability and every couple months or so her schedule kept changing. With that in mind, I have a better sense of what to expect, and therefore can create some sort of routine and more or less stick to it. I hope to continue to maintain it moving forward.
Ensure to have Designated Solitude Time-I always valued alone time, where I’m not thinking too hard. But I didn’t realize how much I needed it until very recently. So I always make sure I have some “me time” during Aisha’s 2nd nap-where I watch a show, have my 2nd cup of coffee and just be in the moment.
So those are my top resolutions for 2022. May I stick to them, and may they help me move forward. Heres to a wonderful 2022!
These are great goals! I’m a big fan of writing things down. If I don’t write it down then I won’t remember. 😂
