So I’ve been in the US for about a month now, and I will be here for a month longer. Let me tell you, it’s definitely been a lesson in time management all over again. Managing everything with Aisha mostly on my own took some adjustment but I think I’ve got a handle on it now. However, now that she is almost 6 months old, she requires more engagement than ever-and its only going to grow. She’s at the point where she wants entertainment and engagement, but she cannot sit on her own just yet. So hello, independent playtime toys and tools. Seriously, I’m so grateful to have come across these tools, that I’m able to get stuff done without keeping Aisha occupied with a screen. Some of them my parents set up before I So here are a few tools that are literally lifesavers.
Bumbo Chair-One of the only ways I’m able to keep her busy while I eat my meals. She sits in that chair, plays with the toys and stays busy. I’m using this one.
Swing-Who doesn’t love a vibrating chair the swings? With toys hanging right above you. That’s occupies Aisha for a good while. I’ve managed to wash dishes in the kitchen while she plays on the swing. I’m currently using this one.
Zulaminds Infant Stimulation Kit*- I love these. When babies are born, they cannot see all the colors, but they recognize vibrant images. So this kit of flashcards has vibrant black, white and red images that help with a baby’s brain development. I’ve put these in front of Aisha during tummy time and she is so engrossed in them that she keeps busy!
Foot Finder Socks and Wrist Rattlers-Aisha is at the phase where loves lifting her legs up, but she hasn’t quite grasped how to hold objects yet. However, when she does lift her feet up, I make her wear velcro bracelets and socks with rattlers on them and she is entertained for quite awhile. The rattlers are colorful, and because there are bugs, she talks to them! I’m using these.
Infantino Prop-A-Pillar -Love love love this. It works as a chair/back support plus as a tummy time toy, and Aisha loves her tummy time. Therefore, placing in this keeps her a happy camper, just enough so I can get through a meal and have dessert. What more can I ask for?
*I’m working with this brand, but I genuinely do love the product and would recommend it to anyone.
So those are a few toys and tools I’m currently using to entertain Aisha. Please keep in mind that these tools have worked well for my baby and your baby may be different. But I do recommend checking these out!
This is a great post for new mama’s, especially for this age group. Not many people focus on the 3-6 month age range so loved that you dedicated a post for that.
