Now I know I’m a little late to the game in talking about this, but let’s face it, Zoom calls are going to be around for awhile. Even if all the lockdown restrictions do get lifted, I would imagine most companies will stick to Zoom calls as a way of getting work done for the foreseeable future. However, how should we look on a Zoom call? The easiest way to amp up your look and make you feel a little bit productive while working from home is to add a tiny bit of makeup. It’ll make you feel more confident, you’ll appear more presentable, and you’ll be more productive. So follow the steps below, and have a fantastic WFH day.
Girl, Wash your Face-Wash your face as you normally would whenever you’re getting ready: face wash, toner, moisturizer, get it all done
Tinted Moisturizer/Foundation-Thankfully with video calls you don’t need extensive coverage so you can easily even out your skin tone with a tinted moisturizer. However, if you prefer foundation, go for it.
Concealer-Concealer is your friend! Brighten up those under eyes to make you appear more awake.
Bronzer-To give your face more dimension. Webcams often give a one-tone appearance, which can make you appear colorless. Use bronzer to give some depth the face. For me, I apply bronzer under the cheekbones, below the jawline, sides of the nose, and along my hairline.
Blush & Highlight-Blush will give that natural flush to your face, and highlight will give you that glow. Therefore, whenever any light hits your face, it’ll show!
Brows-Brows define our faces and highlight the eyes. Fill in the sparse areas with a brow pencil or some gel, and your brows will be on fleek during your zoom calls.
Eyes-If you enjoy applying eyeshadow, go for shimmers or brights because neutral shades don’t show up on camera. However, do keep in mind that a darker shade in the crease, going towards the outer corner, will increase the depth of your eyes and give you more dimension. Nevertheless, the eyeshadow step can be avoided, and to open up your eyes, simply curl your lashes and apply mascara. But, if you’re really feeling experimental, try tightlining to make your lashes look even more voluminous!
Set the Makeup-Use a translucent powder set your face and get rid of any extra shine.
Lips–Finish the look with a neutral or lightly pigmented lip shade.
It’s always fun to play with makeup, and prepping for a Zoom call is no exception. So have a little fun, and amp up your day!
