Rakul Preet’s Iifa Awards Inspired Makeup Look

So, we all know the Iifa Awards happened last week, and honestly more than the outfits I enjoyed the makeup looks. Two of my favorites were of Alia Bhatt and of Rakul Preet. Both were dewy, minimal, and very neutral, which I loved! So for my last Friday Night, when I was to go out with some friends, of course I was inspired to play! Eyebrows: The first thing I always start with is filling in my eyebrows to bring the whole look together. I filled in my brows using Maybelline TattoStudio Waterproof Eyebrow Gel-Black Brown.

Eyes: Rakul Preet’s eye look had some beautiful gold and bronze tones that complimented her gold, metallic suit. For my version to achieve the gold and bronze, I first primed my eyes with Milani Eyeshadow Primer – Nude and then used the NYX Professional Makeup Ultimate Shadow Palette-Warm Neutrals. To get that perfect blend of bronzes and golds, I started with a neutral shade in the crease, placed the darker bronzes on top of the crease and towards the outer corner and added the golds on towards the inner corners and below the crease! I added a bit more shimmer to the eye look with the NYX Professional Makeup Lid Lingerie Eye Tint-Sweet Cloud, which gave that extra gold pop! My eyes finished with my trusty Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner and Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara.

Face: Eyebrows done, Eyes done, now it’s time for the face. I always do my face after my eyes to get rid of any eyeshadow fall out. To start, I prime my face with Maybelline New York Face Studio Mater Primer for Oily Skin and then go in with foundation. So Rakul Preet’s skin is glowing and beautiful. Nevertheless, I prefer a more natural finish foundation so I went for Sephora Teint Infusion Ethereal Natural Finish Foundation-28 Camel, and finished with concealing my under eyes using Maybelline Superstar Better Skin Concealer-Light/Medium.

Next came the blush. Rakul Preet’s makeup is largely focused on a golden glow on the eyes and cheeks. Therefore, I kept the blush very minimal using MAC Sheertone Blush-Blushbaby for that perfect natural color; and made sure my golden highlight would POP using Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed-Champagne Pop on the tops of my cheekbones, tip of my nose, and my cupid’s bow above my lips. Last step was contour, for which I used a darker concealer by NYX called NYX HD Photogenic Concealer-Nutmeg for the hollows of my cheeks and the sides of my nose. I set my makeup using L’oreal Infallible Pro-Spray & Set Makeup Extender.

Lips: So her lips are a darker nude/brown with a little bit of a sheen. Therefore, I lined my lips using, NYX Lip Liner-Brown (which is discontinued, but any brown lip liner will do) and finished with MAC Huggable Lipcolor-Rich Marron.
