For those of you who know me personally, you know I love curling up with a good book. It is a very relaxing activity and a wonderful form of self care; and I try to read every night before sleeping. So last week, I got my hands on a book called Queen of the at Home Lifestyle: A Gal’s Guide to Working-from-Home, Homemaking, and Homeschooling by Chandana Banerjee. I immediately gravitated towards the book because of its super cute cover, and judging the title, it seemed to be very apt for today’s times. After completing it within a couple days, I realized I wasn’t wrong. The book was such an easy, breezy read with wonderful tips and tricks to navigate life today. Here are my thoughts on it.
This book targets today’s woman, who are juggling it all: working from home, homemaking, and/or homeschooling. As a working from home military spouse, the author shares her experience of how moving around the country fueled her decision to take on a career that can travel with her everywhere and a decision to homeschool her son. These decisions were made in pre pandemic times, but they couldn’t be more important today.
Since COVID-19 has made us all stay put at home, a lot of us are rethinking our career options and the possibilities of transitioning to a permanent work-from-home career, or whether or not kids should be going to school in the near future (I don’t have kids, but I am aware that this is a current thought process). This book is here to tell you that it is definitely possible. There are ways to create routines and systems to manage career, child care, and homemaking responsibilities to create a happy haven at home without feeling the need to step out of the house.
She breaks down the book into 3 parts: Work-From-Home Entrepreneurship, Homemaking, Homeschooling. In each part she discusses how to adjust routine, mindset, and your time to get it all done. Her tips are easy to follow and implement and will help any woman transition to an At-Home lifestyle, if they desire to do so. Best part, she even encourages that we all need to make time for ourselves so we don’t go completely insane. I don’t know about you-but a woman who advocates taking care of our individual self is my kind of woman ;).
Queen of the at Home Lifestyle: A Gal’s Guide to Working-from-Home, Homemaking, and Homeschooling is a very easy read and a handy guide for any woman who is trying to figure out how to navigate through the pandemic and post pandemic world. Every woman should have it on her to refer to whenever she needs a moment of guidance to figure out life.
Check it out and give it a read for yourself! It’s a great place to start as we begin to (hopefully) enter a post pandemic world!
Would love to give a good reading of this book. It seems so apt for the given current situation.
