My Go-To Work Look

I go to work everyday, and honestly my work look is pretty basic. However,
it can work for everyone, yet still be spun with individual flair. That being said, I don’t necessarily have a dress code for work, so I just go with looking as presentable as possible. I usually choose my work outfit as soon as I come home the evening before. It’s a process, starting with the top, then the lowers, then the accessories. Yes, I make time for accessories as well! So check out my basic, go-to work look below!

• Blouse/Shirt: The top is typically a button down shirt or some sort of nice blouse. In my Mon-Fri work week I have a rule where I try not to repeat a color. So if I wear a white top on Monday, I’ll avoid wearing white for the rest of the week, for the sake of variety-and it just gets really boring…who wants that?
• Lowers: Next are my lowers, which 99% of the time are always jeggings. Sometimes the low-rise, sometimes high-waisted, depending on my mood. I have so many jeans it’s not even funny-in all types of denim washes and colors. So therefore I’ll grab a pair of jeans to complement whatever top I’m planning to wear.
• Accessories: This is where I like to have a little fun. Before I started with my evening routine, I’d just grab whatever accessories were out in front of me and make those work. Now, I am able to take time and decide what works best with what. I always start with a watch to make sure it matches, whether it is gold, silver, or color. Then I move on to earrings-2 in each ear, ensuring it works with the watch and the rest out of the outfit. And finally, if I feel like I’ll go for an additional something, which is either a ring or a bracelet for my right hand. My left hand has my watch and wedding ring, so I always try to add a little something to the right hand. Of course everything is matching and placed on my trinket tray to be used the following day.
• Makeup: Even my makeup is super simple. I usually go for tinted moisturizer, then winged eye liner (small, long, thick, thin-all depends on my mood), and a lip gloss or lipstick. Thats it!

So there you have it. My basic go-to work look. Within this, there are so many ways to mix things up with the colors and the accessories and still look different everyday. That’s the beauty of it!
