A few weeks ago, I was scrolling through Tiktok and came across several people sharing their Everything Shower Routine. At first, I was like “wtf is that” but that quickly changed to feeling inspired. The everything shower is basically the shower-which encompasses, well, everything to do with personal care from head-to-toe. From hair wash to face care to body care, etc. So seeing those videos motivated me to form my own routine, which I’m able to do once a week when my husband and daughter go for their daddy-daughter time, and now that time is truly sacred. I’m listening to some podcasts or music and indulging in some weekend self care that feels truly wonderful.
So let me walk you through my current everything shower routine!
Pre Shower
Step 1: Face Cleanse-So the routine actually starts before the shower with a quick cleanse. Every morning when I wake up and do a face cleanse with Vitamin C Micellar water, and this step is no different.
Step 2: Oiling the Hair– I know hair oiling is an Indian thing, but I stopped doing it out of sheer laziness. However, after seeing several scalp oils and doing my own research, I now use the JVN PreWash Scalp oil to massage into my scalp-ensuring I get the marma points on the head.
Step 3: Masking-Once the oil is in the hair, I set a 15-minute timer and put on a face mask and eye masks. I keep switching the masks based on my mood. I have some sandalwood and coffee masks from India. However, I’m currently loving these Maree Gel Eye Masks.
Step 4: Dry Brush-So oil is in and masks are on, which means it’s time to dry brush. Dry brushing has amazing benefits for our skin. Therefore, I got this one on Amazon to dry brush my entire body before getting into the shower.

Step 4: Rinse the Face-By this time the oil is settled and the masks are dry. So everything has to be washed off. It’s just so soothing to wash off all the product, and the skin feels oh so nice and soft
Step 5: Shampoo and Conditioner-What’s even more satisfying is getting the oil out of the hair. I’m currently obsessed with the Redken All Soft Shampoo & Conditioner. It smells and good and my hair feels truly fabulous after using it.
Step 6: Body Wash-While the conditioner is in my hair, it’s time for the body. On everything shower days, I make sure to use like a super pampering body wash-just to add to the whole experience. I’m currently enjoying the Kiss My Face De-Stress Body Wash. Once all everything is washed off, it’s time for for the post shower steps!

Step 7: Spritz & Lotion-Again, these are everyday steps but on everything shower they just feel my luxurious. I’m using the Vera Wang Rock Princess Fine Fragrance Body Mist, which I got in an Influenster Box, and the Kiss My Face De-Stress Hand & Body Lotion.
Step 8: Face Care-This step has multiple mini steps: cleanse, tone, serum, moisturize. If you’ve been following me for a minute you know I’m loving the Peach & Lily Glass Skin Discovery Kit. So using their Power Calm Hydrating Gel Cleanser, Wild Dew Treatment Essence Toner, Glass Skin Refining Serum, and Matcha Pudding Antioxidant Cream. Of course, between serum and cream is eye cream-currently using this Yesto one.
Step 9: Hair Care-I let the moisturizer soak in and then go for the hair, which until now was in a Microfiber Towel Wrap. First, I put in a Hair Serum-I’m loving the Trader Joe’s one. Then, I go in with the JVN Air Dry Cream. I have a lot of hair so I don’t even bother to blow dry it. Then I use a wet brush to comb the products through the hair.
Step 10: Lip Balm & Sunscreen-Final Steps are the finishing touches: lip balm and sunscreen. I typically don’t apply makeup on everything shower days unless we have plans, and those plans are usually later in the day. So I finish off with my Burts Bees lip balm and Neutrogena Sunscreen!
So that is my current Everything Shower routine, which I do every week. I know it seems like a lot, but I’m able to do all of this in about an hour at a comfortable pace. I’ve realized that by designating this time to myself I’m able to practice some much needed self-care and just feel better overall. What do you guys think? Would you or do you have an Everything shower routine?
I love how you have a good self-care routine while being a busy mom. It’s nice that you still take time for yourself.
