Weekend Getaway to Reno, NV

Alas, another family vacation in the books. This time to Reno, Nevada-which was a mere 2 1/2 drive from home and was absolutely gorgeous. It was a quick 3-day, 2 night trip which was exactly what we needed. So let’s take you through our quick family getaway!

Day 1-Road Trip and Pizza-We started off our road trip post breakfast. The day was absolutely beautiful and right before the scenic part of the drive, we stopped for a bite to eat in a quaint little town called Nevada City, which (you guessed it) is not in Nevada. After lunch and coffee, we continued our drive to Reno. This was the gorgeous part of the drive, where we drove through the Tahoe National Forest, which was so so green and stunning. As the drive continued we managed to spot snow on the tops of the mountains. We reached our destination by midafternoon, and spent the rest of the evening there.

Day 2-Circus Circus and Amazing Weather-Can I just say we really lucked out on the weather in Reno?! It was in the mid 70s all weekend, which was just fantastic. At the beginning of the day we woke up to our breathtaking view and spent the those few hours getting the day started. Then, after getting ready we headed to Circus Circus for lunch. Real talk: I was so caught up in all the surroundings that I barely took pictures. However, I did learn that Nevada has a huge mining history and we saw a mine in the middle of Circus Circus! After a delicious brunch, we headed back to our spot for some downtime before our host called some guests over for dinner.

Day 3-Heading back Home-The last day was taken up by driving back home, but it was still super fun. We stopped in Nevada City, yet again. This time. we stopped at a different spot for lunch and got to explore the town a little bit more. We loved it so much that we may come back for another getaway. Then, once again after some coffee we headed back on the road to go home.
