So last week, I posted a What I bought Wednesday Tiktok showing my brand-new skincare products to start skin cycling. I came across the term “skin cycling” on a podcast I listen to and decided to some research. It’s a skincare routine which rotates the treatment step in the nightly skincare regime. My reference article was this one.
*Quick disclaimer: I am just a skincare lover, and I am in no way a dermatologist or any kind of expert.
Skincare Steps: Cleansing, Toning, Treatment, Eye Cream, Moisturizing Facial Massage
Everyday Steps: Cleansing, Toning, Eye Cream, & Moisturizing-So the everyday steps that don’t change on a nightly basis are my cleansing, toning, eye cream, and moisturizing. Currently I’m using the Yes-To Cucumber Daily Gentle Milk Cleanser with Aloe, which I got in a collaboration box. HOWEVER, I do love it. It’s very soothing for my combination skin. The toner, eye cream, and moisturizer I’m currently using all happen to be from Trader Joes. The Rose Water Facial Toner, Supreme Hydrating Eye Cream, and finishing off with a Marula Facial Oil face massage at the very end.
Day 1: Exfoliating-Yet, the treatment step always changes depending on the night. After the toning and before the eye cream and moisturizing is the treatment. Night 1 is all about exfoliating to remove that upper layer of dead skin cells.. I start with a light scrub on my skin with the Burts Bees Deep Pore Scrub and then a Glycolic Blend with the Cerave Skin Renewing Nightly Exfoliating Treatment.
Day 2: Retinoids-Day 2 is all about retinol . So post cleansing and toning, I’m using the Versed Press Restart Gentle Retinol Serum.
Day 3-4: Recovery-The next 2 nights are recovery from the exfoliating and the retinol. Post the cleansing and toning I’m using the Cocokind Ceramide Face Serum to recover.
After the treatment comes the eye cream and face massage, and once the 4 nights are done, then I just start back at 1. I’m only a couple of weeks in, but I’m thoroughly enjoying this entire process and I do see in a different in my skin as well! Everything is linked in my Amazon Storefront so be sure to check it out!
