Soooo October means Halloween which means trips to the pumpkin patch. And this year was Aisha’s first trip to the pumpkin patch ever. While she had very little idea of what was going on, I was super excited. For starters, there are around 6 Pumpkin patches around town, so my criteria for narrowing down the options was proximity, activities, and reviews. Therefore, I found TJ Farm Estates to be the best option: 10 minutes from home, hay rides, animals, and pumpkins-and kids love it.
We made it a family thing where everyone went and had a lovely Saturday morning. It was a bright warm day, and farm was crowded and lively with a ton of families and kids running around-so it was a good time. I loved seeing all the activities they had: from feeding the animals to hay rides to sitting in the barn, to gold panning-tons of things to do.
However, because it was Aisha’s first time and there was a lot going on, she was quite overwhelmed. She didn’t feel comfortable leaving the lap, but she had her favorite spots. She loved looking at the animals, playing with the water at the gold-panning station, and hanging out in the old carriage which was on display. She was even willing to hold a pumpkin. However, due to her not wanting to run around, we were just there for a half and hour. But hopefully when she visits the pumpkin patch again she’ll do better. And who knows maybe we’ll do another pumpkin patch this year!
It seems like you made the best of Aisha’s first pumpkin patch visit- even if it was for 30 mins.
