Again, in case any of us have lost track of what day it is, what month it is, or frankly anything-Mother’s Day is THIS WEEKEND. Growing up, I celebrated Mothers Day, by getting my mom flowers, going out for a family brunch, or going for mother-daughter pedicures. However, going out to actually celebrate Mother’s Day is not necessarily an option right now and ordering in is not necessarily ideal. Nevertheless, there are a few easy ways we can make the moms, mom in laws, grandmothers, expecting moms, plant moms, and pet moms feel special. Check out the list below for some easy ideas!
Breakfast/Brunch-For those of us who are currently quarantined with our moms, nothing like a delicious Sunday brunch or breakfast to bring everyone together. Finding recipes on your favorite websites like Tasty or Pinterest or anything else in between is a great way to 1. get creative in the kitchen (something most of us are already doing) and 2. make all the moms feel super special :).
Dessert-Another food related item that can bring the whole family together-making a delicious dessert. Again, we’re all attempting to bake something aren’t we? So why not make mom’s favorite?
DIY Mani-Pedis-In case you’re in the mood to pamper your moms, how about some DIY Manis and Pedis?? It’s amazing what can be created with basic ingredients like Olive Oil and Coconut Oil. I recently did a DIY pedicure on myself following these steps, and I’m very happy with the results. Try it out for yourself and your mom! If you’re not physically with your mom, send her the links so she can make the same items, and you can both treat yourselves and have a nice conversation over video at the same time!
Virtual Tours-Another activity that can be done both virtually and in person. For the mom who likes to travel, but actually can’t right now, how about taking her on virtual tours to destinations she picks? Travel the world with your mom from the convenience of your home!

Games-One of the most popular quarantine activities is games. Whether it’s a game night, which is a great Mother’s Day activity and she can pick the game, or through online games-where, again, she picks the game. Its a great way to spend some quality time with your mom and just have fun :).
Virtual Cooking Date: For those of us who are not living with our moms. We all miss mom’s cooking don’t we? I know I do, and I’ve learned a lot of cooking skills from my mom as well. A great Mother’s Day date is to virtually cook together. Decide on a recipe and cook it together! Let your mom pass on her fabulous cooking wisdom onto you, and follow her step-by step! It’s a great way to spend some time, you’ll be cooking with her (don’t all our mothers want that), and you get to learn a little extra something.
Impromptu Photoshoot: I have yet to meet a mother who doesn’t like nice photos. Through my lifetime, all mothers I’ve seen get very excited with taking pictures and having pictures to look back on. So why not get out of the comfy Sunday clothes and dress up a little for an impromptu photoshoot?? Who knows mom might frame the pictures!
Good Old Video Chat: This is a great solution for those of us who have moms in a different time zones. Setting aside time to Facetime and see your mom is always precious. Again, an excellent way to catch up and make mom feel special.
Our mothers do a great deal for us, and while we should acknowledge that more often, we can definitely use Mother’s Day to make them feel a little special. So whether you’re physically with your mom or not, there are definitely ways to celebrate her and how wonderful she is. So Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there! Hopefully it’s a special one :).
