OMG it’s Fall and I couldn’t be more excited for all of it. As I’m typing this, I’m sitting in a cafe next to the open door as the breeze of this 70 degree day comes in, and it feels truly glorious. The Fall season-aka the last three months of the year are truly my favorite but also the most busy, and if you’ve been following me for awhile you’d know that I thrive on productivity, and my SAHM life includes keeping track for multiple schedules all at once. Hence, I’ve picked up a few ways to keep my life organized and it’s been truly helpful. I intend to amp up the organizing as we close out the year so check out my list of tips and tricks below!
Daily Planner-I’ve spoken about this time and time again. Despite there being a plethora of digital planners, I am a physical planner type of girl. The ability of writing down tasks with a pen to paper simply helps me remember them. Therefore I have a daily planner which has all the to-dos, meals, and grocery lists. I write in it just about everyday and it’s truly a lifesaver.
Color-Coordinated Calendar-I haven’t adopted this until recently, but it’s very helpful. Along with my daily planner with all the daily to dos, I have color coordinated digital calendar in my phone to keep track of everyone’s appointments. I’ve seen many family digital calendars on Tiktok, but at this point the calendar in my phone works just fine. Each family member has a designated color and things just stay more organized.
Separate Albums for Screenshot Events-With all the festivities upon us, Instagram is full of local event promos and we love attending them as a family. So to avoid forgetting them, I screenshot the one’s I’m interested in and add them to a separate album in my phone. Once it’s confirmed we’re going, it’s entered into the calendar.
Weekend Reset-I can’t emphasize how much a weekend reset helps me mentally organize for the week. It allows for the break and set up for the week ahead. Check out more in this blog post here!
Pack Bags the Day Before-Our mornings are super busy. We’re either heading to school or to the gym or both and we got bags to pack: School/diaper bag, gym bag, purse. All of the bags are packed a day before so we can just grab ‘n’ go in the mornings.
Nightly Map Out-Every evening after my daughter goes to bed I take a little time to map out my next day. Especially if it’s a morning where I’m on the go, I take a minute to work out where I’ll be, how long I’ll take, and where will I eat and it just takes away all the guesswork during the morning rush.
So those are a few ways I try to keep my life organized. Essentially I try to create systems that allow my next steps to run more smoothly. Good luck to all of you for the busiest time of the year!
We couldn’t be more alike- I literally do all the same things to help me stay organized, lol.
The best one (in my opinion), is color coding your calendar/planner- that really helps!
