5 Things to Tell my Husband this Father’s Day

One of the most precious things I get to witness on a daily basis is the relationship between my husband and daughter. How they both are with each other literally makes my heart sing, and I’m the walking talking heart-eye emoji all the time. I’m truly so grateful for my husband and who he is and how he has evolved as a dad, and I don’t tell him enough. So in honor of Father’s Day this weekend, here are 5 things I will say to him.

I love how You are with Aisha-I love how you are with Aisha. I love how you play with her, cuddle with her, read to her when I’m not around. I love that you feed her from your breakfast plate when she asks for it. I just love what you do in dad mode, and she totally bonds with you through it

I love that You are still You-I love that you’re still you. Even though we are both parents, you are still who you are, and I love that about you. Through that you’re encouraging me to stay true to me, and encouraging Aisha to be who she is.

I love that You Approached this Next phase as a Beginning, not an Ending-When we got pregnant, you said one thing I love: “this baby is a part of us.” You’ve literally imbibed that. Rather than approaching this as an end to something, you’ve communicated that it’s just the next phase of our journey. And because of that, we’re so grateful in this phase we’re in.

I Love Sharing this Journey of Parenthood with You-As exhausting as parenthood can be, I love that we can share the laughs and the struggles together. I love that you ground me when I’m going crazy. I love that we balance the jobs so each of us gets a break every now and then. I love that we make memories with Aisha everyday.

I love that we are Partners first, and Parents second-I love that we do date nights and activities to spend time together and check in, and then get back to parenting. It takes a bit to switch modes, but we do the best we can. Happy Father’s Day to you <3.

So those a few of the many things, I’d tell my husband today, tomorrow, or any day. What would you tell the dads in your life??

Aww I love this post so much! I love that you and your Hubbie put a focus on yourselves, your relationship then Aisha. People tend to lose themselves in parenthood so glad you focus on each other too.
