So earlier this week during my morning workout I came across Arshia Moorjani’s Youtube video, discussing some of the valuable lessons she’s learned in the last few years. That video was so relatable to me that I felt inspired to write my own version of it. There are definitely quite a few lessons I’ve picked up that have been life changing for me. So here goes!
Trust the Timing of Your Life: Definitely learned this one the hard way. All my life I’ve always insisted that things should be done “on time” or “early.” However, whenever I’ve tried to “make things happen”, its almost never happened for me-when I wanted it to. I had to learn things to let things come to me on their own. Hence, learning about manifestation and putting things out there in the Universe.
Practice Gratitude: I’ve talked about this many many times, and it is actually life changing. A 2-3 minute gratitude practice everyday simply changes the mindset in remarkable ways. I know for me, it’s boosted my mood and made me feel better overall.
“No Phone Time” When You Wake up and Right Before Your Sleep: My phone goes into “downtime” at 9:15 p.m. every night and remains that way until 7:00 a.m. the next morning. I’m typically sleeping between 9:30 and 10 and I’m up at 6:00 a.m. every day. Therefore, I have some time of no phone time everyday, and I’m not perpetually feeling the need to catch up on notifications and messages constantly.
Wake up and Sleep Early: I can’t emphasize enough how amazing this is. Being able to wake up before anyone else makes me feel in charge of the day. It’s quiet, the day is in my control, and I’m not falling behind on things. Plus, by sleeping early, our bodies are able to fully recover for the next day ahead.
Consistency is Key: Whether it’s a workout or managing a routine, keeping this consistent is absolutely key to getting results. I remember there being times where I was much more relaxed about my workout timings, and that showed in my body physically. However, once I started managing my time better, I came to realize how important consistency is.
So those are 5 life lessons I’ve picked up over the last few years. We all go through episodes in life that force us to grow and evolve. However, we always come out of those episodes having picked up a valuable lesson. So whenever you are finding yourself feeling a little lost or confused. Don’t worry! Simply look back on how far you’ve come! I’m very sure you’ve picked up quite a bit!
