5 Actions that Make my Life More Productive

At the start of the year, I’m always super motivated to increase my productivity game to further streamline my routines and basically my life. In fact, off and on throughout the years I’ve written different blog posts around productivity. That being said, in the past couple months/weeks I’ve implemented some new actions and/or further refined the actions I was already doing, and they have been serious game changers. So here are 5 things I’m currently doing to make life more productive.

Putting My phone in Focus Mode-I have no idea why I didn’t do this sooner. My phone goes into “night mode” and “do not disturb” when I sleep, but now it’s always in “personal mode.” I underestimated how distracted a notification popping up can be-even if I didn’t pick up my phone to actually look. The fact that my notifications are not constantly popping up on my phone is keeping my mind focused. Even at the gym, I save an extra 10-15 minutes because I’m not replying to texts or checking social media or whatnot.

Taking out My outfit the Night before-This is something I’ve been doing for years, and I can scream it from the rooftops that it’s life changing. It saves so much time and energy in the morning. In fact after seeing me do it for years, my husband does it too!

Packing Purse/Backpacks the Day Before-Another task that I’ve been doing for many years-only addition now is I have my daughter’s backpack to pack too. Nevertheless, packing up any bag: purse, gym bag, school bag, etc-the night before makes it significantly easier to just grab and go in the mornings.

Loading up the Washing Machine the Night Before-This is a small task I started in the last few weeks of 2023. I run a different load of laundry everyday of the week, and I run it in the mornings and fold them in the afternoons. So taking a couple minutes to put the dirty clothes in the washer the night before is (I’ll say it again) LIFE CHANGING-so much time and energy saved as you’re trying to get out the door in the mornings.

Sitting down to Plan the Week-This is my most recent productivity hack. I have a calendar in my phone to keep track of the appointments that are booked in advance, but having a physical planner to actually write things down is truly something else. I’m still in the process of making it a habit, but I sit down nearly every Sunday morning and spend 30 minutes planning out my week: starting with writing down all the appointments that are in my phone calendar, noting down my content plan (post days, shoot days, etc), then scrolling through social media to plan the dinners for the week, and writing down the meals in the planner as well. Once that is done, writing down a grocery list, and finally organizing when certain tasks will be down based on the timing left in the schedule (laundry, groceries, errands, etc.). Having everything structured out before the week even begins reduces a major mental load during the day to day rush. Plus, I make it a thing with a cup of coffee and a candle! You can see more on this task in this tiktok.

So those are the tasks I’m currently doing to organize my life and make it more productive. I’m always looking for more hacks so when I have more I will share them!
