31 Lessons I’ve Learned in the Last few Years

It’s my birthday week. I turn 31 this year, and this year I took the opportunity to reflect on some of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned over the years and I still apply today. Some of these lessons I always knew, but they got reiterated in the last few years. So here goes!

  1. Get a good night’s sleep
  2. Drink water
  3. Nobody can make you happy more than you, yourself (self love for the win)
  4. Trust your gut
  5. Health encompasses physical, mental, emotional, AND spiritual needs
  6. What matters most is what you think of yourself, not what others think of you.
  7. Wake up early to get ahead of the day
  8. Take out your outfit/workout clothes the night before
  9. Invest in good skincare
  10. Write things down if you forget
  11. Go handsfree whenever you can
  12. There is so much out of your control
  13. Be grateful
  14. You cannot control how others react/behave, but you can control how YOU react
  15. Stand/sit up straight
  16. Have one hobby that keeps you creative, one hobby that makes you money, and one hobby that keeps you fit
  17. Women’s health is way different than men’s health
  18. Your energy rubs off on others
  19. “Doing Nothing” is actually a good thing
  20. Eating healthy does more than helping your body. It makes you look good too.
  21. When you look good, you feel good
  22. Journaling helps you collect your thoughts
  23. When it comes to parenthood, theres no right or wrong-it is whatever works for everyone involved
  24. Taking a walk helps you clear your head
  25. Reading a book never gets old
  26. No matter how advanced technology gets, nothing replaces in-person communication and interaction
  27. Heartbreak is a part of growing up
  28. If you’re confused between two choices, flip a coin-the answer will come mid flip
  29. Being busy all the time is overrated
  30. Be kind
  31. Be YOU-theres only one of YOU

So those are 31 (of many lessons) I’ve learned along the way and I’m still applying to today. Did anything resonate with you? Let me know!

This is such a great post. It’s good to reflect on things you have learned within the last year.
