We’re getting into the 2nd half of October, and where I live this is the time the autumnal weather finally kicks in. September is warm and October it starts to cool down. As it gets cooler, the weather calls for warmer, transitional pieces to get through the tricky season. However, we don’t need to go shopping for new clothes. We can easily create autumnal looks with our already existing pieces in your wardrobe. So here are a couple of ways to take what you already own and convert them to a more transitional look
Maxi Dress: I love maxi dresses. They are one piece that covers everything, and yet still looks super cute. A great way to “autumnize” a maxi dress is to simply add a jean jacket or cardigan on top and some boots or booties. Done! Just a couple of tweaks and you have an autumnal outfit!
Boyfriend jeans: Another major staple for the summer. All summer I lived in t-shirts or crop tops and boy friend jeans. However, now it’s time to put those crop tops away, and add a thin long or 3/4 sleeve and accessorize with a scarf or something cute. Voila! Another summer staple is converted into an Autumnal Look!
Knitted Hole Sweater: I always find holed sweaters tricky on when to wear them. Therefore, transitional weather is perfect. It’s warmer than the regular summer clothes, yet much cooler than the frigid winter clothes. Pairing it with jeans, leggings, or even a skirt will create a very cute transitional look for the season.
So there you have it, a couple of basics we all have in our wardrobe to transition us from summer, through autumn, and into winter. I always find this time of year super exciting-and frankly changing up the style definitely plays a part. So when you’re a little stuck on what to wear, check out some of the pieces you already have, and mix things up! You got this!
