2nd Trimester Recap

I can’t believe that I’ve just got one trimester to go! That’s crazy to me. I’m sitting here writing this on Christmas Eve at a little over 28 weeks pregnant, starting my 7th month. Let me tell you: time flies. Compared to my first trimester, the cravings, the mood, the energy-it’s all different

Cravings: Remember when I said I was craving carbs? Well that still continued, but add craving chocolate into that mix. Not good. I wanted all the chocolate (milk chocolate specifically) and cookies. Basically after every single meal, I wanted a dessert. However, thankfully the aversion to chicken and fish went away as I started my 2nd trimester and I was able to enjoy eating those meals again. But honestly once a week I wanted either a pizza or a burger for dinner.

Mood & Energy: My energy definitely increased in the 2nd trimester. I was able to move around a lot more. I didn’t require the naps in the afternoon, and my brain was able to work in a more productive way. Hence, content creating and planning became a lot easier. My mood, however, fluctuated. I had days where I was even keel and going with the flow, then I had other days where I would emotionally breakdown or want to punch something. However the more negative emotions started coming up more and more towards the end of my 2nd trimester

Now I’m Really Pregnant: So transitioning from my 1st trimester to my 2nd trimester, mentally I went from wondering if and forgetting that I am pregnant to actually feeling pregnant. I started properly showing in my 4th month so that is approximately 15 ish weeks. Before that my bump was so tiny that it was only visible to me. As I continued to grow, I started having fun with wearing maternity wear and dressing my bump up in a flattering way. That’s been a fun adventure. Every week it’s like learning to style a whole new body. Nevertheless, being pregnant during Covid brought about its challenges as well. As an extra precaution I avoided traveling anywhere. However, emotionally that was very difficult because all I wanted to do was spend time with my loved ones and get a change a scenery. Unfortunately, I couldn’t do either, and honestly that was hard. But thats for another blog post :).

So there you have it. A brief 2nd trimester recap as I begin my 3rd trimester. Hopefully the 3rd trimester is as smooth sailing as the 2nd one!
